How To Make An Order: Form 1
[To let me know if you need Tab or Notation and Tab and so on]
You may also wish to print out and send the other 2 forms I have created (you don't absolutely need to do this, but it helps sometimes):
FORM 2 [To let me know other details, such as the key of the piece (if you know it), use of capo etc]
FORM 3 [For if you wish to take advantage of my easy payments scheme]
Would you like:-
• 'Standard Notation only';
• 'Tablature only' - if so, with stems, or without?;
• 'Standard Notation and Tab' - tab with stems or without?
(Please note: the answers to the above three questions may impact my choice of notation software. To generalise (and the situation is fluid as software continues to develop):
These two are my favourites by far, and Sibelius 3 is fast becoming the default tool in this business. G7 is a 'cut-down' version of Sibelius 3 aimed at guitarists and songwriters (and it's great value at approx. USD $149).
Sibelius files can be read in an internet browser window once the freeware 'Scorch' plugin has been downloaded.
Incidentally, G7 is very easy to use, but the results are stunning. It looks great on the page, and it has many 'state of the art' features - you can even import and export ASCII tab files! There are all kinds of fretted instrument 'templates' supported, (and it's easy to create new ones). And as well as a supporting myriad of alternative tunings, (also easy to create from scratch) and being able to create non-guitar pieces, it also shares it's elder 'sib'lings (sorry) legendary superb playback features!
Finale (Its strong point is perhaps 'Standard Notation only', though that's nothing that Sibelius can't do just as well and quicker); you can read Finale files with the freeware 'Finale Notepad'.
I may also sometimes use Igor Engraver from time to time, though this is doubtful, as development seems to have stopped; Igor files can be read by a freeware 'Igor Reader'.
